In the second half of 2023, we started on our second project for the Design Elective subject. My team and I, a group of 4, joined the National Design Project (NDP) competition, and we decided to make a project that would promote environmental wellness in our world.

We started brainstorming different ideas, talking about the many areas where we could help improve the environment. After many interviews, we came to the conclusion that recycling was one of the biggest factors that contribute to helping the environment, but at the same time is something not done properly by many.

We created a portable box with wheels using plastic sheets, where users could separate their recyclables into different sections, with each section being adjustable.

​

On top of that, the cover of the box served as a drying rack for recyclables after being washed. We also designed and put up a poster on how we can recycle better.

We submitted this project to the competition, and managed to obtain the Merit award!
